Gasparetto Parenti与Olivier Guyot打造巴黎Hôtel Massé创意酒店空间

gasparetto parenti and olivier guyot shape hôtel massé’s creative world in paris

HÔTEL MASSÉ BECOMES A CREATIVE MEETING POINT IN PIGALLE

One year after opening in Paris’ Pigalle neighborhood, Hôtel Massé has gradually established itself as a meeting point for the city’s creative community. Located on rue Victor-Massé, in the 9th arrondissement, the independent, family-run hotel brings together visiting designers, artists, photographers, stylists and other creative professionals. What began as a hospitality project has developed into something more social, with the recent addition of Le Trente, a neighboring bar and restaurant that carries the hotel’s spirit into the evening.

Behind the project are siblings Corto and Eole Peyron, who have drawn on their family history and personal connections to shape a place rooted in its surroundings. Corto, who developed the hospitality concept, invited his sister Eole to oversee its artistic direction, bringing together a network of independent artists, craftspeople and designers. Their approach reflects a family philosophy centered on encounters and shared experiences, with the ambition of creating a hotel that feels equally connected to its guests and to the neighborhood.

GASPARETTO PARENTI BRINGS A WARM CHARACTER TO THE HOTEL

Occupying a Haussmannian building renovated by Studio Olivier Guyot, Hôtel Massé features interiors designed by Paris-based architecture practice Gasparetto Parenti, founded by Juliette Gasparetto and Julie Parenti. Across its 40 rooms, the studio has developed a restrained material palette of okoumé wood, maritime pine, beige carpeting and warm neutral surfaces. Vintage furniture, including 1970s lighting by Ingo Maurer, introduces individual character, while burgundy-lacquered corridors contrast with the brighter guest rooms, some overlooking the rooftops of Paris.

The hotel’s communal areas follow the same understated approach. Rather than a conventional reception counter, guests are welcomed around a custom wooden table accompanied by recycled stools from design duo Clueless. Elsewhere, seating along the street-facing windows encourages guests to linger, work or observe the rhythm of the neighborhood. The interiors also incorporate pieces by cabinetmaker Alexis Mazin, textiles by Thomas Coccimiglio and ceramic details by Héloïse Rival, whose illustrated tiles appear in the bathrooms.

ARTISTIC COLLABORATIONS EXTEND BEYOND THE HOTEL

Art has played a role in the project from its earliest stages. Painter Christian Rosa created several works directly inside the hotel during a residency before its opening, while pieces by Sophie d’Esteve and Eduardo Lalanne are integrated throughout the interiors. The uniforms, designed by Studio de Lostange, and other custom-made objects extend this collaborative approach into the everyday experience of the hotel. Together, these contributions create an environment where architecture, furniture and contemporary art coexist without the formality of a conventional exhibition space.

Just next door, at number 30 rue Victor-Massé, Le Trente introduces a more nocturnal counterpart to the hotel. Also conceived by the Peyron siblings, the bar and restaurant occupies a former loft, reimagined by Olivier Guyot and Gasparetto Parenti. Its green marble facade, marked by lettering from contemporary artist Konstantinos Kyriakopoulos, opens onto an interior furnished with a vintage wooden bar, red-painted floors, second-hand objects and intimate seating areas. Family photographs line the walls, while 1,500 miniature Ricard bottles decorate the restrooms, referencing the family’s Mediterranean roots.

LE TRENTE BRINGS MUSIC AND NIGHTLIFE INTO THE MIX

Upstairs, a space beneath a large glass roof continues to accommodate creative activity, having previously served as a studio for artists in residence during the hotel’s renovation. Downstairs, the restaurant offers seasonal dishes designed for sharing, alongside natural wines and cocktails. Music is another defining element: a program curated around vinyl brings together DJs playing jazz, ambient, house and electronic music, supported by custom speakers clad by cabinetmaker JJ Booth. Together, Hôtel Massé and Le Trente occupy two neighboring addresses with complementary identities: one offers a quieter retreat, while the other invites people to stay out late. A year after the hotel’s opening, the project illustrates how a small, independently operated hospitality space can develop through relationships with the creative community around it, extending beyond the traditional boundaries of a hotel.
